Ok, in laymans terms, instead of upgrading from a shared hosting account which are many many websites (many accounts) on the same server (computer), a VPS ist he same idea BUT a lot less account AND resources are allocated to each oft he VPS account. This means that normally, ALL resources are shared, so if some person decides to take up all the resources, guess who’s website is not going to work!? This way, you are GUARANTEED resources and less accounts means less people and in turn, less people to potentially mess anything up. Go VPS if you can afford it. Don’t nickel and dime yourself. A virtual private server will save you from long nights, headaches and overall stress because while shared works great, it has the tendency to cause nightmares.
